Increasing evidence of UK Covid-19 variant in Corfu positive samples

ATHENS. The daily EODY reports and specifically the genomic surveillance for coronavirus variants show that 26 instances of the variant were found amongst the positive samples.
The number of coronavirus variants is increasing in Corfu and specifically the variant that was first discovered in the UK. The daily EODY reports and specifically the genomic surveillance for coronavirus variants show that 26 instances of the variant were found amongst the positive samples.
It is worth noting that in Corfu 17 of these were recorded recently.
The genomic analysis was carried out on 606 chosen samples from the 9 January to 23 March. The samples were from the following areas: Western and Central Macedonia, Peloponnese, Epirus, Thessaly, mainland Greece, Crete, Attica, Corfu and Lesvos.
Samples are sent from the Health Servicesand EODY team in Corfu almost daily for genomic surveillance as was reported in Enimerosi three days ago.
