ATHENS. Education Minister Niki Kerameos announced that there will be lessons in June.
The Education Minister Niki Kerameos announced that the school year will be extended through June and that the national exams will take place as normal in the same month just like last year.
"It is one of the government's main priorities that schools should open with special provisions for junior high and high schools," Ms. Kerameos said on Thema Radio.
The Minister said that the reason that schools closed was that there had been an increase in cases mainly due to the virus mutations. She said that tele-education was going well but it is an emergency solution and that the school year will be extended through June.
Ms. Kerameos added that the national exams will take place as normal in the same month just like last year. As regards universities, she said that there is a proposal for the spring semester to operate via distance learning. "We are looking into special adaptions for practical work."
