Meropi Ydraiou asks Civil Protection Minister for regular testing in schools

CORFU. The Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor made several proposals that could help fight the pandemic.
At the meeting with Civil Protection Minister Michalis Chrisohoidis at the Regional Administration headquarters this morning the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou made several proposals that could help fight the pandemic
Firstly, the Mayor asked if there could be weekly rapid tests for pupils and teachers. She also requested that the vaccination programme be speeded up and for the percentage of the population that will have been innoculated by May to be made known so that we can have the data for the start of the tourist season.
Ms. Ydraiou also asked if there will be vaccination certificates for locals and visitors.
She then went on to refer to measures that the Municipality has taken since the beginning of the pandemic and said that the Municipal Civil Protection Service is available to all organisations and services to help in the fighta against the pandemic.
The Minister agreed with the Mayor's proposals and promised that the Ministry will respond to her request for rapid tests at schools.
