Covid mutation found in Corfu (UK variant)

ATHENS. According to the Biomedical Research Foundation Academy for SARS-CoV-2 mutations, the genomic analysis of 454 selected new samples for the period 7 January to 9 February has been completed.
The samples came from West Macedonia, Central Macedonia, Crete, Attica, Ioannina, Thasos, Thesprotia, Lefkada, Corfu, Aitoloakarnania and Viotia.
In total 764 samples have tested positive for the presence of the Β.1.1.7/UKlineage (Variant VOC_202012) (See table below) and 15 for the B.1.351/South Africa (Variant 501V2) since the Biomedical Research Foundation Academy for SARS-CoV-2 mutations began operating.
It can be seen from the table below that 1 sample tested positive for the UK variant in Corfu (Kerkyra).
Of the 15 positive samples for the B.1.351/South Africa (Variant 501V2), 11 were in Thessaloniki, 2 in Ioannina and 2 from Athens North.
