ATHENS. EODY announced 721 confirmed new cases and 49 deaths on Friday 8 January including 1 new case in Corfu.
EODY announced that there were 721 confirmed new cases today. 8 of the cases were detected at entry points.
The total number of cases in Greece is now 143,494, of which 52.2% are males. 5,579 (3.9%) of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 43,251 (30.1%) are connected with known cases.
386 patients - 121 female, 265 male - are intubated in ICUs. The average age is 68 and 85.2% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 950 patients have been discharged from ICUs
There were 49 deaths today taking the total number of fatalities to 5,195. 3,072 (59.1%) were males and the average age was 79. 95.5% had underlying health conditions or were over 70.
