ATHENS. EODY announced 262 confirmed new cases and 40 deaths on Saturday 2 January but no new cases in Corfu.
EODY announced that there were 262 confirmed new cases today. 22 of the cases were detected at entry points.
The total number of cases in Greece is now 139,709, of which 52.3% are males. 5,457 (3.9%) of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 41,741 (29.9%) are connected with known cases.
431 patients - 143 female, 288 male - are intubated in ICUs. The average age is 67 and 79.8% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 896 patients have been discharged from ICUs
There were 40 deaths today taking the total number of fatalities to 4,921. 2,918 (59.3%) were females and the average age was 79. 95.5% had underlying health conditions or were over 70.
