ATHENS. EODY announced 597 confirmed new cases and 43 deaths on Friday 1 January including 3 new cases in Corfu.
EODY announced that there were 597 confirmed new cases today. 5 of the cases were detected at entry points.
The total number of cases in Greece is now 139,447, of which 52.3% are males. 5,430 (3.9%) of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 41,491 (29.8%) are connected with known cases.
429 patients - 142 female, 287 male - are intubated in ICUs. The average age is 67 and 78.3% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 893 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
There were 43 deaths today taking the total number of fatalities to 4,881. 2,895 (59.3%) were males and the average age was 79. 95.6% had underlying health conditions or were over 70.
