Historic verdict: Golden Dawn a criminal organisation - Roupakias guilty of Fissas murder

ATHENS. All 18 Golden Dawn political members found guilty and 7 of them for running a criminal organisation. Roupakias guilty of the murder of Fissas along with 15 of the 17 accused.

The 3-member Athens Court of Appeals announced its verdict just before 12:00 on Wednesday 7 October and has found Golden Dawn to be a criminal organisation.

All 18 accused former Golden Dawn MPs and political cadres were found guilty of being members of a criminal organisation.

Of those, 7 were found guilty of running the criminal organisation and they are expected to be given very long prison sentences. The 7 are Michaloliakos, Kassidiaris, Lagos, Germenis, Panayiotaras, Pappas and Matathiopoulos.

Giorgos Roupakias guilty of the murder of Pavlos Fissas

The Court found 15 of the 17 accused guilty of the murder of Pavlos Fissas after 5½ years of hearings and 7 years after the killing.

Roupakias and the other 14 were found guilty and the two not found guilty were Santorineos and Tsakanikas.

Murder of Pavlos Fissas

Two of the 17 were found not guilty due to the existence of doubts. Giorgos Roupakias was found guilty of the murder and the following found guilty of aiding and abetting the murder and being members of a criminal organisation - some were also found guilty of possession of weapons:

Ioannis Angos, Marios-Anastasios Anadiotis, Giorgos Dimou, Ioannis Kazantzoglos, Elpidoforos Kalaritis, Ioannis Komianos, Konstantinos Korkovilis, Anastasios Michalaros, Giorgos Patelis, Stavros Santorineos, Giorgos Skalkos, Giorgos Stabelos, Giorgos-Christos Tsakanikas, Leon Tsalikis, Athanasios Tsorvas, Nikolaos Tsorvas, Aristotelis Chrisafitis.

Assault on Egyptian fishermen

All the following were found guilty of attempted murder, membership of a criminal organisation and disturbing the peace:

Dimitris Agrioyiannis, Markos Evgenikos, Thomas Marias, Anastasios Pantazis (running a criminal organisation), Konstantinos Papadopoulos.

All the following were found guilty of attempted murder, membership of a criminal organisation, disturbing the peace, criminal damage, possession and use of weapons:

Kyriakos Antonakopoulos, Ioannis Kastrinos, Anastasios Pantazis, Christos-Pavlos Hadzidakis.
