Central Corfu Municipality acquires bio-waste refuse truck

CORFU. The Municipal Cleansing Department received the first of two bio-waste refuse trucks as part of the E-Horeca WANET Programme - The trucks will collect bio-waste from the brown bins.
The first of two bio-waste refuse trucks was received today as part of the E-Horeca WANET Project, which is being implemented within the European Cross-Border Cooperation Program INTERREG IPA CBC «Greece-Albania 2014-2020» and is co-funded by the E.U. (85%) and National Resources (15%).
The programme was organised by the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipal Planning and Development Department and the truck was received by the Cleansing Department.
Present at the handing over of the truck were Deputy Mayor for Cleansing & Recycling Yiannis Seremetis, Supervisor of Waste & Recycling Management Section Andreas Lavranos and from the Ionian University Markos Avlonitis, who is the Project Leader and Director of the Computer Modelling Lab.
The refuse trusck will collect bio-waste from the brown bins.
