CORFU. The British woman hit by a speedboat in Avlaki yesterday did not die immediately, according to the Medical Examiner΄s report - Severe haemorrhaging and multiple fractures were the cause of death.
Severe haemorrhaging and multiple fractures caused the death of the 60-year-old British woman who lost her life in the accident at sea in Avlaki on Monday 31 August.
This was the conclusion of the report following today's autopsy conducted by Medical Examiner Ioannis Aivatidis.
According to the Medical Examiner, the woman was still alive for a few minutes following the hit-and-run accident with the speedboat - he stated clearly that death was not due to drowning.
The multiple injuries caused by the boat's propeller and the internal bleeding, however, did not allow her to live for more than a few minutes.
