Motorcyclist, 53, killed in road accident

CORFU. The accident occured on Friday afternoon on the Corfu–Pelekas road. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries in hospital early on Saturday morning.
A 53-year-old man lost his life following a serious road accident that on Friday, May 29.
The accident happened on Friday afternoon in Karoumpatika, on the Corfu–Pelekas Road, when the motorcycle ridden by the 53-year-old collided with a van under circumstances that are not yet clear.
Police officers and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. The motorcyclist was found seriously injured and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Despite the medical care he received, the 53-year-old was unable to survive his injuries and passed away in the early hours of Saturday.
The exact causes and circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the competent Traffic Police Department.
