Restrictive measures extended in Corfu, Zakynthos and 18 other Regions

ATHENS. The extension of the measure prohibiting the opening of catering establishments between midnight and 7 a.m. was announced in the Government Gazette.
A maximum of 50 people can participate in social events, including ceremonies such as weddings, christenings and funerals.
The measure has been extended and will continue to apply from 25 to 31 August. The areas it applies to are Attica, Crete, Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Larissa, Corfu, Karditsa, Pella, Pieria, Mykonos, Paros, Santorini, Volos, Katerini, Rhodes, Antiparos, Zakynthos and Kos.
Violations of the maximum limit for social events will fined €150 for individuals and from €3,000 to €5,000 for the organising companies - whose businesses will also be closed for 2 weeks. Individual organisers will also be fined from €3,000 to €5,000.
Execeptions to the curfew are delivery and takeaway businesses as long as a distance of 1.5 metres is maintained between employee and customer. Fines starting at €10,000 will be imposed for violations along with temporary closure of the business for between 3 days and 3 weeks.
