Municipal Advisory Committee for the pandemic

CORFU. Central Corfu Municipality has set up an advisory committee to follow local developments in the pandemic day by day and update local residents.

Following discussions in the Municipal Council and between the party leaders a committee was set up yesterday to follow more directly developments in the COVID-19 situation.

The Committee President is Mayor Meropi Ydraiou and Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras is Vice-President.

The Committe is made up of Municipal Councillors from the majority of the parties who are involved in the health sector.

1. Yiannis Triantafiloudis (Kerkyra Na Zis) - Director of Nursing Services at Corfu Hospital
2. Chrysostomos Boukas (Kerkyra Anagennisi) - Pathologist and former Director of Pathology Clinic at Corfu Hospital
3. Lefteris Markatis (Ekkinisi) - Pneumologist and doctor at Corfu Hospital
4. Spyros Poulis (Kerkyra Allagis) - Corfu Ambulance Service Workers President

Also on the committee are Ioannis Alamanos, infectious diseases specialist advisor; Municipal doctor Christos Giagas and Municipal Health Supervisor Katerina Laskari.

In collaboration with the responsible bodies the committee will follow local developments in the pandemic day by day and update local residents. In essence it will be a link between the public and the authorities responsible for dealing with COVID-19.

An information campaign will begin in the next few days.
