ATHENS. EODY announced 203 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday 9 August, 29 of which were detected at entry points.
EODY announced 203 new confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 , of which 29 were detected at entry points. The total number of cases in Greece is now 5,623, of which 54.8% are males. 1,438 (25.6%) of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 2,705 (48.1%) are from contacts with known cases.
22 patients - 5 female, 17 male - are intubated in ICUs. The average age is 63 and 59.1% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 129 patients have been discharged from ICUs
There was 1 death today, taking the total number of fatalities to 212. 69 (32.2%) were females and the average age was 76. 95.8% had underlying health conditions or were over 70.
The 203 new cases are broken down as follows:
29 from checks at entry points
4 arrivals who volunteered to be tested
38 in Attica - 10 of which had close contact with a confirmed case and 3 had travelled recently to areas with positive cases.
