IOANNINA. It took Spyridoula Karydi just two jumps to become National Under-20 triple jump champion again this year in Ioannina.
Spyridoula Karydi retained the national under-20 triple jump title with relative ease in Ioannina.
The young Corfu athlete coached by Pavlos Skordilis was favourite for the Gold Medal and needed just two jumps - 13.67m and 13.64m - to claim the title.
She didn't take any more jumps as she is also taking part in the long jump. There was some rainfall and Spyridoula had the wind against her for both attempts.
Maria Kavalierou was second with 12.57m and Maria Bertsima was third also with 12.57 but her second best jump wasn't as good as that of the silver medallist.
Another Corfu athlete - 16-year-old Marianna Mourtsinoudi - also took part in the triple jump and came 8th with 11.49m.
