First KOTINOS Gold Award for Spyros and Giorgos Dafnis of ΄The Governor΄ in extra virgin olive oil competition

They won the Gold Award in the Medium Fruitiness category of the IOOC KOTINOS 2020 Competition organised by 'Philaios' Olive Oil Lovers Club and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Evaluation Committee for 2019-20 which was held on Wednesday 22 July at the Athens Marriott Hotel.

Spyros Dafnis said, "Several years ago, in the middle of the economic crisis and standing on our own two feet without any other help, when Corfu didn't even have its own olive oil brand and Corfu olive oil production had been left to deteriorate, we decided to invest steadily and seriously in the primary sector and olive oil processing. Guided not by what we had inherited but what we would like to leave for future generations with love, passion and care, we started to change EVERYTHING! Many things stayed the same but what changed was how Corfu olive oil was now regarded. Its potential and prospects. Its proved health value and its award-winning quality! We want The Governor to rewrite tradition - the tradition of Corfu olive oil. And that is what it is doing!"



The brothers received their Award from the President of the Hellenic Health Foundation Dr. Antonia Trichopoulou.
