CORFU. Protests on 25, 26 and 27 July - Strike and rally on 4 September if demands have not been satisfied.
Corfu Hotel Employees' Union is planning three protests from 25 to 27 July following a meeting of the Board today.
The demands are for a collective Labour Agreement, measures to protect the health of workers, payment of overdue wages and a halt to be brought to terrorism from employers.
The three protests will be as follows:
Saturday 25 July at 19:00 in Linia (Chlomos)
Sunday 26 July at 19:00 in Sidari (car park)
Monday 27 July at 19:00 in Kontokali (Sotiriotissa)
It was also decided to start a new membership campaign and a General Assembly will be held on Thursday 13 August.
On Friday 24 July at 10:00 there will be a meeting at the Workers' Centre with workers at tourist companies and in tourism in general who have been completely excluded from any measures of support and on Tuesday 28 at 10:00 there will be a meeting with catering workers at the same location.
It was also decided to hold a strike and rally on 4 September if demands - especially for financial support - have not been satisfied.
