New public toilets to be built in Mon Repos

CORFU. The DEI sub-station near the entrance to the estate will be converted with a budget of €40,000.

Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality is proceeding with the conversion of the DEI sub-station near the entrance into public toilets for visitors.

The contract was signed today by Deputy Mayor for Technical Works Nikos Kalogeros and the contracting company.

"The Mon Repos estate is of course one of Corfu's most important sites and building restoration and maintenance is being carried out there. Included this maintenance and improvement work is the design and construction of public toilets for visitors.

The work for which the contract was signed today includes the restoration of the building, cleaning, installation of necessary utilities, maintenance, repairs, tiling, painting, installation of plumbing fittings and sanitary ware and development of the ramp and surrounding area. The budget for the work is 41,404 Euros.

The Deputy Mayor expressed his satisfaction with today's signing of the contract and said that when the work is complete there will be a significant improvement in services and facilities offered to visitors.

He added that the aim of the Municipality is to improve the complete image of the estate and restore all the buildings there."
