CORFU. There will be a special Armed Forces health team at Corfu Airport from Sunday and a simulation exercise will be held on Monday.
"There is no room for compromise or risks where the public health is involved," stressed the Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias on his visit to Corfu Airport today.
Nikos Hardalias was in Corfu on Friday afternoon as part of his tour of 18 regional airports that will reopen to international flights on 1 July.
Mr. Hardalias met with the airport administration, representatives from the Fire Department and Police as well as local authority representatives.

The purpose of the Deputy Minister's visits to all the regional airports is to coordinate the local authorities and organise the necessary procedures that they will be following from 1 July based on the health protocols that have been announced.
Following his meetings and having been shown around the airport, Mr. Hardalias said, "We are ready to receive tourists without making any compromises with regard to public health - this is non-negotiable and is the desire of the Government."
According to the Deputy Minister, on Sunday 28 June a special Armed Forces health team will come to Corfu which, along with the Police and Fire Department, will be in charge of the test procedures for international visitors.
"Based on a special algorithm, there will be 400 sample tests on international visitors every day," said Mr. Hardalias, adding that "These are difficult and unprecedented procedures for Greece and what is at stake is the maintenance of public health, safety and organisation."
He added that by Monday the hotels that will be used as 'quarantine hotels' will be announced.
