ATHENS. The Greek Minister for Tourism Haris Theoharis was interviewed on the BBC afternoon news about how Greece has been dealing with coronavirus and its impact on tourism.
Introducing the interview presenter Martine Croxall said that Greece is an EU member country which has been able to successfully face the coronavirus crisis. It went into lockdown early and up to now has only just over 2,400 confirmed cases and 121 deaths in a population of 11 million. The Greek economy, however, is dependent to a large extent on tourism and is expecting assurances at today's EU Summit Meeting regarding this year's summer season.
