ATHENS. Following the decision to close all educational establishments for 14 days the Minister of Education Niki Kerameos announced that frontistiria will also close.
Following a decision by the Ministry of Education, all the country's frontistiria (private tutoring schools) will also close due to coronavirus. Talking on SKAI TV channel, Ms. Kerameos said that she had requested EODY (National Public Health Organisation) to order all frontistiria and other extracurricular educational establishments to close as part of the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias had announced earlier that all educational establishments will close for 14 days as a preventative measure. These included schools, children's day centres, nurseries, colleges and universities. The original announcement had not included the private sector.
