΄The Christmas Express΄: ΄Mantzaros΄ Philharmonic Youth Band concert

This year the concert has been titled "The Christmas Express", inspired by the well-known children's film "The Polar Express". The band will be playing some of the music from the film.

The concert will include a variety of styles with classical, traditional and swing Christmas pieces.

Soloists: Lia Kolita (soprano) and Sotiris Triantis (baritone)

The Swing Band '7 Mile Limit' will also be taking part in the concert with the following members:

Lefteris Atsopardis - Trumpet
Nikos Kesaris - Trombone
Iraklis Askonitis - Piano
Vaggelis Glavinas - Electric bass
Andreas Alamanos - Drums

The Sotiris Bouhayiar Dance Group will also be taking part.

Proceeds from the Christmas concert will go to the 58-year-old victim (S.K.) of the fire in Mantouki, who is at present hospitalised in Athens.

S.K. is a former musician from the Philharmonic Society and the Board has expressed its support for him and his family.
