Civil Protection: Emergency response in Corfu and Epirus

ATHENS. For damage and destruction due to weather.

There will be immediate funding and fast-tracking of the necessary procedures in specific areas of Corfu and Epirus which suffered damage from the weather conditions between 12 and 14 November.

The Civil Protection General Secretariat issued the following statement:

In response to the emergency needs and to deal with the consequences (flooding, landslides) of the recent weather conditions (heavy downpours, strong winds, storms) between 7 and 13 November and 12 and 14 November in the two regions, Civil Protection General Secretary Nikos Hardalias has declared a State of Emergency Response in the following areas:

Pentati, Chlomotiano, Agios Mathias, Chlomos Perivoli, Argyrades, Kouspades, Petriti, Agios Nikolaos -Lefkimmi and Othoni in Central Corfu Municipality and the districts of Phaeaces, Paleokastritsa and Parelion as well as the Municipality of North Corfu.

and

Paramithia, Kristalopigis, Neohori, Pagrati, Karvounari, Chrysavgis, Prodromo, Choikas, Samonidas, Sivoto and Perdika in Thesprotia.

Zalongou, Lourou, Philipiades, Thesprotiko, Kranea and Parga Municipality in Preveza and the Municipality of Konitsa.
