Programme of events for Armed Forces Day - 21 November

                                                    CORFU. The Ionian Islands Regional Administration has announced the programme of events in Corfu Town for Armed Forces Day on Thursday 21 November.
                                1. Flags flown throughout town from 08:00 until sunset.
2. Public buildings and banks lit up in the evening.
08:30: Raising of the flag at the New Fortress accompanied by Philharmonic and Army bands.
11:55: Dignitaries arrive at the Holy Church
12:00: Official Doxology at Metropolitan Church of Spileotissis led by Nektarios Archbishop of Corfu, Paxos and Diapontia Islands.
Following the Doxology there will be a formal reading from the President of Corfu Association of Retired Officers Major Vassilis Thalassidis.
12:30: Memorial service and laying of wreaths at the Heroes Memorial by various dignitaries followed by one minute's silence.
