Garitsa hit by waves this morning

The strong winds since last night - up to Force 11 according to the National Meteorological Service - led to a rise in sea level and large waves which reached the opposite side of the road!

At this time (11:00) Garitsa shore road is flooded - causing problems for drivers and pedestrians. The waves have even reached the park on the opposite side of the road!



Open ferry boats have been prohibited from sailing from Corfu, Lefkimmi and Igoumenitsa and members of the public are requested to keep checking with the Port Authority regarding the closed ferry boats.
