CORFU. Further collaboration between Corfu and Russia was discussed - economy, tourism and cultural exchanges between the two regions.
As part of the Hellenic-Russian Week there was a meeting at the Old Town Hall on Monday morning chaired by the Mayor of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Meropi Ydraiou. Corfu tourist and other business professionals met with representatives from the Republic of Mordovia.
Present from Corfu at the meeting were the Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Chamber, the Hoteliers' Association President and the President of the Travel Agents' Association.
From Russia the Secretary of the Mordovia Region and business representatives were present along with Church representatives.

The Mayor talked about Corfu's positive points such as the recent development of religious tourism and environmentsl-friendly investments which are of benefit to both sides.
