18-year-old tourist injured in rock fall

According to the Coast Guard, the accident happened in the coastal area of Chomi, Liapades on Tuesday evening when rocks fell into the sea and injured the right leg of the 18-year-old girl, who was on a chartered boat at the time.

The young tourist was taken to Alipas harbour by private boat and then by ambulance to Corfu Hospital.

Officers from the Port Authority went to the scene and informed all nearby boats and evacuated the beach as a precautionary measure.

Paliokastritsa Port Authority is conducting an investigation into the incident.
