Violent family incident in Lefkimmi with knife attack

CORFU. A 46-year-old man was taken to Corfu Hospital seriously injured.
A 66-year-old Corfu man was arrested in the early hours of the morning by Lefkimmi police for the attempted murder of the 46-year-old man.
The victim was found near Lefkimmi gym early on Saturday morning with serious chest and stomach injuries. The police were called out immediately and the 66-year-old - a relative of the victim - was found and arrested. A few hours earlier the two men had been involved in an argument and the 66-year-old had then stabbed the other in the chest and stomach with a knife.
The knife was found by the police and has been sent for analysis. The victim was taken by ambulance to Corfu Hospital, where he is now hospitalised.
The incident is being investigated by Lefkimmi Police with the assistance of the Regional Criminal Investigation Department.
The 66-year-old was taken to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
