Funding for the Integrated Waste Management Facility has now been signed off

CORFU. The Mayor΄s Office announced on Wednesday evening that the inclusion of the Corfu Integrated Solid Waste Management Unit in the funding programme has been signed.
The Waste Management Facility will be constructed at the SYDISA facility in Temploni. The study and construction will be included in the funding programme of the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change and the cost has been estimated at 29m Euros.
According to the same source, the planning study for the new site to receive the residue from the processed waste is underway. The contracting company has already been announced and the contract is being formally prepared. When the site study has been completed and the licence granted the construction of the residual landfill will be put out to tender.
