Meropi Ydraiou to meet with new Mayors for North and South Corfu

CORFU. The new Mayor of Central Corfu has invited the Mayors of the new municipalities of North and South Corfu to a meeting on Friday morning.
The statement issued by her party says, " The new Mayor Meropi Ydraiou's initiative to invite the island's other two Mayors to a meeting on Friday at 11:00 is part of a New Start and a New Period for Corfu.
The meeting will take place at the Municipal Hall at Faliraki and aims to define and establish a framework of cooperation to deal with common problems.
The new Mayor Meropi Ydraiou stressed that, 'The three new Mayors need to work together and from the first day that they come into office they need to function with as few problems as possible.
The issue of waste management and the infrastructure for water supply and drainage are two areas in which must work together.
We need to work rationally and with our eye on the future. Makeshift solutions and party politics which led to divisions in the Municipality create problems which we are obliged to face up to.'"
