PAXOS. Following time-consuming efforts due to all the bureaucracy involved.
Paxos Deputy Mayor for Cleansing Arsenis Lekkas announced that he has been able to add a brand new Piaggio van to the fleet of Cleansing Services vehicles.
The van will work along with the existing large privately-owned vehicle to collect recyclable materials from businesses on the island - a process which is already progressing satisfactorily.
"The fleet of Municipal vehicles were in very poor condition when our term of office began but through our systematic efforts things have changed. It is now up to the public here to continue recycling so that we can become the top municipality in the Ionian Islands as regards recycling."
Work is also continuing with street lighting in Paxos with the placement of traditional lamps both in the town and in other areas.
