CORFU. On Friday afternoon a group of Lefkimmi residents went to the Regional Administration Headquarters in Alykes where the Regional Council was meeting.
The residents requested that they be allowed into the Council meeting room to present a resolution to the Regional Governor protesting against one of those arrested for the sabotage at Lefkimmi landfill being held in custody. Police Chief Spyros Alamanos passed on the message from Theodoros Galiatsatos that they would not be allowed to enter in order to avoid any incidents.
The residents decided to hold a silent protest in front of the guarded building with banners and signs demanding the release of Manolis.
