Riot police to leave Lefkimmi and the main road to open to traffic again

According to the sources, within the next few days the Ministry for Civil Protection will confirm that the police, who have been present at the Lefkimmi waste management facility since the summer, will be withdrawn.

The expected decision was promised to Lefkimmi representatives by the Minister Olga Gerovasili when they met with her following their protests in Athens. According to police sources, once the riot police (MAT) have left and the main road is opened to traffic again the area will be patrolled by local police.
