Murder weapon found in the case of the dead 63-year-old in South Corfu

CORFU. The weapon that killed the 63-year-old man last Sunday has been found in Spartera near the scene of the crime.
The accused man, who has confessed to the crime, showed the police the spot. The weapon is a shotgun which the accused man said he fired three times. Two injuries were found on the dead body of the 63-year-old.
When he was being questioned over the last few days he had mentioned various different locations, which widened the area in which the police searched for the weapon. This is probably explained by the confused state the accused man was in when he carried out the crime.
The 44-year-old will appear before the investigating magistrate on Sunday morning and whether he will be remanded in custody will depend on his statement. He is being held in jail at the moment by Corfu Police.
