CORFU. In a town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Monument everything is prohibited and everything is allowed.
One didn't know whether to laugh or to cry with the confusion on the roads in town on Wednesday evening. A minor 'everyday' incident with one vehicle running into another at the junction of Desyllas St. and Theotoki St. (Municipal Theatre) led to all traffic coming to a halt, including a MAT (riot police) polica van.
The traffic snarl-up occurred when an urban (blue) bus and a car bumped into each other. Statements had to be made for the insurance companies and in the meantime all the traffic was held up, including the police van and a double-decker tourist bus behind it...and another behind that....
