Spyros Pandis (Tsiantis) elected new president of Lefkimmi Cultural Society

LEFKIMMI. Spyros Pandis, a business owner from Kavos, is the new President of Lefkimmi Cultural Society.
There was a dramatic board meeting on Friday night once the ordinary members, Maria Kontomari and Lyda Gasteratou had left.
The 7-member board was joined by the 2 alternate board members. One of them - Spyros Pandis - was then elected President.
He immediately posted the following on Facebook: Following the departure of Maria Kontomari and Lyda Gasteratou yesterday it was important that the movement shouldn't break up at such a crucial time in our struggle. To be President doesn't have any special significance in such a democratic movement because all the decisions are always taken unanimously. Lefkimmi Cultural Society has plenty of people who are well aware of what is happening and we will work together to secure the final victory. Maria and Lyda may have resigned from the board but they haven't resigned from the fight and will be at our side. United, we go forward.
