First NeTT project meeting – Corfu Municipal Regional Theatre a partner

CORFU. The aim of the project is to create a network with the theatres of Apulia (Southern Italy) and Western Greece as well as local cultural and natural heritage financial management organizations.

The first meeting of the NeTT project (Network of Theatres for the valorization of Cultural and Natural Heritage to develop a Sustainable Tourism), funded by Interreg V/A Greece-Italy 2014-2020, will take place on 10th and 11th July 2018 in Patras, at the Achaia Chamber of Commerce.

Apulian Public Theatre - Regional Consortium for Arts and Culture is the project’s leading partner in collaboration with Petruzzelli Opera House and Theatres of Bari Foundation and three Greek partners, Corfu Municipal Regional Theatre, Patras Municipal Regional Theatre and Achaia Chamber of Commerce. Apulia Region Department of Tourism and Culture also participates in the project as an associate partner.

The aim of the NeTT project, which is funded with € 900,000 by Axis 2 of the ‘Integrated Environmental Management’ Project, is to create a network with the theatres of Apulia (Southern Italy) and Western Greece as well as local cultural and natural heritage financial management organizations.

Thanks to this project, Greek and Italian organizations, in collaboration with local businesses in the fields of culture, creative industry, local traditional handicrafts and agri-foods, will create a cross-border network to enhance the attractiveness of the locations through innovative and sustainable tourist packages.

The first meeting will run for two days. The first day will focus on a detailed analysis of the project, targets and management procedures. During the second day, all partners will participate in the planning of the project’s activities and its 2-year plan.

Interreg V-A Greece-Italy is a European Territorial Collaboration Project that aims to assist public and local organizations in developing cross-border projects and pilot programmes in order to develop new policies, products and services for the end aim of enhancing the quality of life for citizens.  Strategically, the project will enhance innovation in various fields, such as ‘blue’ development, tourism and culture, agri-foods and cultural and creative industries. The  Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Project aims to achieve maximum performance from the123m Euros funded by the European Regional Development Fund by 85% and by 15% from the two Member States through national co-funding.
