Golden Caps: Top Restaurant Awards for chef Botrinis and Etrusco Restaurant

ATHENS. The top awards ceremony for Greek restaurants took place in the Ballroom of the Grande Bretagne Hotel in Athens and once again ‘Etrusco’ won the award for top restaurant in Greece.

Ektoros Botrinis, owner of restaurants in Athens and Corfu, was awarded the Golden Cap and the Corfu ‘Etrusco’ restaurant won 2 Caps for the 6th year in succession as the best restaurant in Greece with 17/20 points.

Golden Caps are awarded to restaurants with 15/20 points and above. This year for the first time there will be separate awards exclusively for Greek Cuisine – ‘Greek Cuisine Awards’ – which will be presented at a ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Thessaloniki on 20th March.

The official dinner at the Awards Ceremony was prepared by five talented Greek chefs from award-winning restaurants abroad:

Thanos Feskos (Geranium, Copenhagen), Giorgos Papazacharias (Maaemo, Oslo), Michalis Papafilis (Epicure, Paris), Philipos Chronopoulos (Restaurant du Palais Royal, Paris) and Giorgos Kataras (Geranium, Copenhagen).
