Six culinary awards for Corfu restaurants

ATHENS. The high quality of Corfu cuisine was clearly indicated by the performance of six Corfu restaurants in the FNL Best Restaurant Awards 2017.

Etrusco was the winner in the category ‘Greek Haute Cuisine’. Klimataria (Bellou family) was a finalist in the category ‘Traditional Greek Cuisine’, the restaurants Aristos (Grecotel Imperial), Venetian Well and Pomo D`Oro were finalists in the category ‘European Cuisine’ and Toula was a finalist in the category ‘Fish Restaurants’.

The award ceremony, which took place in Athens on Monday 8th January, shows that the standard of gastronomy in Corfu is of a very high level. The awards covered a wide range of restaurants, including hotels, beach restaurants, old village tavernas and modern city cuisine. The best-known, award-winning chef from Corfu, Ektoras Botrini, is in a category of his own.

We offer our warm congratulations to Ektoras Botrini for Etrusco, Yiannis Vlachos for Venetian Well, Toula (as well as Nikos Vergetis and chef Giannis Mouzakis) for Toula, Aristotelis Megoulas and Maria Stratakou for Pomo D`Oro, Konstantinos Karapanagiotis for Aristos and of course, the Bellou family for Klimataria. Well done – we’re proud of you! We are eagerly awaiting what 2018 will bring!
