Fire in uninhabited building in I.Theotoki St.

CORFU. The Fire Service was called out just after 11 this morning when an old mattress caught fire in an uninhabited building in I.Theotoki St.
The three fire engines and six firemen were able to quickly get the fire under control.
Although the building was uninhabited, according to neighbours – who have lodged complaints in the past – some homeless people had been using it and evidence of human habitation was found on the premises.
The Fire Service is carrying out an investigation into the exact cause of the fire.
