3 new ferry services to Paxos per week in the winter
PAXOS. There has been a major upgrade in ferry services to Paxos in the winter following the decision of the Coastal Transport Committee (SAS).
During the last SAS meeting, at the Ministry of Shipping (20/11/2017), the Municipality of Paxos, represented by deputy mayor Giorgos Lichnos, made an application to the committee for additional ‘closed type’ ferry boat services in the winter months for Corfu-Igoumenitsa-Paxos, mainly for the days Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is to facilitate residents and visitors and to avoid cancellations due to bad weather conditions.
The application was approved and so the ferry services with ‘closed type’ boats have been added to the timetable with immediate effect.
The ferry connections have now been significantly upgraded in the winter and will serve to ease the lives of residents, visitors and employees living and working on the island, thus satisfying their long-term demands.
According to the press release issued by the Municipality of Paxos, "This outcome proves that with persistence, dialogue and goodwill on both sides, everything is possible."
