Mayor Meropi Ydraiou meets with Festival of Mediterranean Cultures organisers
CORFU. The dance groups paraded and ended up outside the historic San Giacomo Old Town Hall, where they danced and sang.
The organisers of the International Festival of Mediterranean Cultures, which was held 6-10 September in Corfu, met yesterday (10/9) with the Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou.
The Mayor exchanged gifts with the CIOFF Greece President Kostas Ioannidis, the CIOFF South European Sector President Anna Maria Boileau and the Sinies Educational and Cultural Society President Yiannis Garnelis, as well as with all the CIOFF representatives and the members of the countries that participated in this great event for intangible cultural heritage
The Mayor stated the following: "It was a great celebration for our town. The Mediterranean is a geopolitical neighbourhood of great importance and if we have solidarity and manage to combine ideas, cultures, values and principles, we will be able to look at the future with optimism and perspective. Thank you all for your excellent cooperation."
The members of the dance groups of the countries that participated in the festival, once again paraded through the Corfu Town historic centre and ended up outside the historic San Giacomo Old Town Hall, where they danced and sang.
