CORFU. Corfu theatre is coming back to life after two years thanks to the initiative of a group of local people involved in the field of advertising and marketing.
It has been confirmed that public venues about which there had been doubts will in fact be operating this year and Corfu Festival along with the Corfu Gymnastics Association are organizing theatrical performances, events and concerts at various venues for summer 2018.
The opening date – for the theatre – is July 4 in the outdoor area of Corfu Gymnastics Association, and there will be concerts with popular artists at selected venues under the auspices of the festival such as Pazuzu on Glyfada beach and Nymphes Hermitage. In the next few days the venues for photography and other art exhibitions will also be announced.
Performances at this year’s Festival include the black comedy ‘Ta radikia anapoda’ (Upside down radishes) as well as children’s theatre with the actress Carmen Rougeri , ‘Magic Spinning Tops’ and ‘The Northern Theatre’. There will be a performance of the musical ‘Grease’ and concerts by Michalis Hatziyiannis, Sakis Rouvas, Dionysis Schinas, The Melisses and Pantelis Thalassinos with ticket sales already showing how popular they are!
The entrance to the theatrical performances at Corfu Gymnastics Association is in Stamatiou Desyllas St. and performances begin at 21:00.
