2nd High School pupils meet with Mayor
CORFU. The pupils showed particular interest in the island΄s environmental issues after visiting the former Seniors Care Home and the Nymphes waterfalls.
Third-year pupils from Corfu 2nd High School , accompanied by their teacher, Anna Pangrati, visited the Mayor of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, Stefanos Poulimenos, in his office today as part of their project on "Active Citizens and the Environment."
The pupils showed particular interest in the island's environmental issues after visiting the hill with the former Seniors Care Home (Avrami) and the Nymphes waterfalls, where they observed the degradation of these areas due to uncontrolled waste disposal. Taking the initiative, they organised efforts to collect and remove the rubbish.
A productive discussion took place between the Mayor and the pupils, highlighting their awareness of environmental concerns and their interest in becoming active and responsible citizens.
