Quad bike accident: Rider trapped after falling down embankment – firefighters carry out rescue
CORFU. Two people were riding the quad bike. One was taken to hospital after being pinned beneath the vehicle, but fortunately his life is not in danger.
An emergency response was launched by the Fire Service and the Ambulance Service on Thursday night in Nissaki following an accident involving a quad bike carrying two people.
Under circumstances that have not yet been clarified, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the quad bike to leave the road and plunge down an embankment. During the fall, the heavy vehicle overturned and trapped one of the two people beneath it. Fortunately, the second rider was not injured and managed to get out on his own.
A major rescue operation was immediately mounted to free the injured rider, involving five Fire Service vehicles. Firefighters were able to reach the difficult-to-access location, recover and lift the overturned quad bike, and free the trapped rider.
An ambulance was waiting at the scene and transported the injured man to the nearest hospital, where he received first aid and underwent the necessary medical examinations. According to initial reports, the rider was extremely fortunate,as he did not suffer any serious or life-threatening injuries.
