Rubbish pile fire in Kentroma
CORFU. At around 04:20 early on Wednesday morning a pile of refuse on the roadside caught fire in Kentroma in the Thinalaion district.

CORFU. The Ionian Islands Regional Governor assures British travel agents and tour operators that collection of refuse throughout the island will have been completed in 10 days.
Hopes for the decongestion of Temploni and the roads
CORFU. It was announced at the Town Council meeting that the Solid Waste Management Service (SYDISA) has obtained (it is not known how) a second machine for the selection and baling of mixed waste - an absolute necessity for the decongestion of the Temploni facility and the Corfu roads.
