Bike Night 2: A special nighttime Christmas bike ride
CORFU. The 10-kilometre route started from the S Bikes shop in Acharavi and ended at the Christmas Village in Acharavi.
(Spyridoula Kokkali) Bike Night 2, a nighttime cycling route organised by Stamatis Banos and his business, S Bikes, for the North Corfu Municipal Christmas Village, was held with great success.
The 10-kilometre route started from the S Bikes shop in Acharavi and ended at the Christmas Village in Acharavi, passing through beautiful locations such as Roda Beach, Platonas, Sfakera and Livadakia. A stop was made at the Sfakera square for a group photo, capturing the evening's joy and sense of community.
More than 40 cyclists of all ages, from young children to older cycling enthusiasts, participated enthusiastically, supporting this wonderful event that promotes not only fun but also the concept of sustainable mobility.
As the North Corfu Deputy Mayor for Circular Economy and Environmen and a former amateur competitive cyclist, I am particularly pleased to see initiatives like this that combine a love for the environment, the promotion of cycling culture, and the strengthening of the local community. Cycling is an important tool for a greener and more sustainable daily life, and events like Bike Night 2 encourage everyone to participate in this way.
Congratulations to the organisers for their excellent planning and to the participants, whose positive spirit brought this unique event to life. May we continue to support similar initiatives that promote health, environmental awareness, and the sustainable development of our region.
