CORFU. The pupils learned about their natural heritage and how we can all work together to protect the wildlife of our region!
Two sixth-grade classes from the Potamos Primary School participated in an educational activity as part of the programme “The Butterflies of Koukoritsa,” organised by the CBC and the Capodistrias Museum - Centre for Capodistrian Studies, funded by the Ionian Environment Foundation!
The pupils enjoyed various activities in the museum's gardens, starting with a brief discussion about the key characteristics of butterflies and why these remarkable insects are essential as pollinators and indicators of a healthy ecosystem.
This was followed by a fun memory game featuring 20 butterfly species common to the island. Then, the children worked together on a group project, creating posters for their classrooms.
