Corfu Soroptimist Club organised a visit with "The Smile of the Child" to the Dafni family olive mill in Agios Mattheos. The children enjoyed the trip, the guided tour, and the meal, which brought us great satisfaction and joy. Representing the Soroptimist Club, the children were accompanied by the Honorary President Christina Haidoglou, Programme Director Elena Karoubi, and Deputy Programme Director Marilou Dolianiti.
The Director and Owner of Olive Fabrica, Spyros Dafnis, an economist (3rd generation olive growers), guided us through all the facilities (museum of old machinery, modern unit, video projection room for olives, and tasting), where we enjoyed the state-of-the-art olive mill with global distinctions, dishes with olive oil, and those offered by our Club.
Once again, the programmes we have been organising for years for the children of "The Smile of the Child" under the title "Getting to Know Our Place" fulfill their purpose - extracurricular learning and socialisation of children, as well as the joy of discovering something new.
