Donations of food and basic necessities from Rokas Company

The Rokas Group S.A. has made a donation of food items and other essential supplies for those in need Central Corfu Municipality, as well as in the north and south. The appreciative post from the social cooperative New Horizons on social media states:

"Significant donations from the business group Thomas Rokas S.A.

Central Corfu community support organisations providing basic goods in the region, as well as in the north and south, warmly thank the Rokas Group S.A. for its significant support and contribution in basic food items and other supplies to help provide support for over 340 families daily at the island's community shop and food kitchen.

The company Thomas Rokas S.A., true to its principles, consistently supports vulnerable population groups through various social initiatives and material equipment, assisting both public and private entities.

The Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipal community shop and food kitchen,  in collaboration with the social cooperative New Horizons, aim to cover the basic survival needs of vulnerable social groups (unemployed, homeless, migrants, refugees, and the poor). In combination with a comprehensive programme tailored for each family, the effort to support them is strengthened, thereby reducing the risk of social exclusion and marginalisation.

Families that use the community shop and kitchen are selected by the municipal social services in collaboration with the personnel of the social cooperative, based on specific criteria, to ensure access to the community support facilities."
